AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts football staff is adding players through the current transfer portal window.

Below is a list of official additions to the program:

Chris Stanley | CB | Akron, Ohio | 6'0" | 180 lbs.  
Previous School(s): Garden City CC
Date: January 5 

  • Attended Garden City Community College and graduated in December 2025.
  • During the 2025 season, accumulated 14 tackles, including 13 solo, averaging 2.0 tackled per game in seven games.
  • Also had one interception with an 11-yard return and added four pass breakups.
  • Returned one kickoff.
  • Also played his freshman season at Feather River College in California.
  • Totaled 19 tackles, an interception, four pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
  • Attended Desert Edge High School, where UMass wide receiver Kezion Dia-Johnson and defensive end Jerry Washington also played. 
Kamarion Thomas | DL | Saint Albans, N.Y. | 6'3" | 280 lbs.

  • Tallied a career-high 12 tackles at Delaware State (9/19/25).

  • Did not appear in a game in 2024 or 2025.  
  • Prior to UNC, he was a four-year letterman at long snapper and offensive lineman at The Cannon School, appearing in 38 games. 
  • Ranked as a five-star snapper by the kicking specific services. 
  • Tabbed a 2024 Adidas All-American and Man of the Year finalist. 
  • Ranked as the No. 1 snapper in North Carolina and earned South Charlotte Sports Report Specialist of the Year honors. 
  • A first-team All-Observer honoree. 
  • Helped The Cannon School to the 2021 NCISAA State Championship and two conference titles.

Michael Robinson | STAR | Montclair, N.J. | 5'11" | 194 lbs.

  • Played all 12 games in 2025, primarily on special teams and had three tackles in kick coverage.

  • Also played eight games on special teams in 2022 and made four tackles. 
  • Did not see action in 2021 and 2023.  
  • Prior to Rutgers, played wide receiver, quarterback and defensive back at Montclair. 
  • As a senior, completed 28 passes for 466 yards and six touchdowns, rushed for 658 yards and eight scores and added five receptions for 68 yards. 
  • Passed for 842 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. 

Joshua Iseah | LB | Charlotte, N.C. | 6'2" | 238 lbs.

  • Spent the previous three seasons at North Carolina A&T, playing in 35 career games. 
  • As a junior in 2025, played in all 12 games and made 83 tackles (40 solo, 43 assisted). 
  • Added five tackles for loss, two interceptions and four pass breakups. 
  • Named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1 after leading the Aggies with 10 tackles, including five unassisted and three for loss and adding an interception in a narrow 24-21 loss at Tennessee State.  
  • In 2024, appeared in all 12 games and finished with 31 total tackles (14 solo, 17 assisted).  
  • Added a fumble recovery.  
  • As a freshman, made 59 tackles (33 solo, 26 assisted) in 11 games.
  • He was named a 2023 Sports Illustrated Freshman All-American.  
  • Totaled four tackles for loss and two sacks and also forced and recovered a fumble. 
  • Played high school football at Independence under head coach DJ McFadden. 
  • Finished his high school career with 264 tackles, including 177 unassisted, 18.5 sacks, three interceptions and eight pass defenses in 30 games.

William "Pop" Watson III | QB | Springfield, Mass. | 5'11" | 200 lbs.

  • Competed at Virginia Tech for the past three seasons, seeing action in 11 games. 
  • Went 36-for-63 for 558 passing yards with one touchdown.  
  • Also rushed for 81 yards on 54 attempts with two touchdowns.  
  • In the 2025 season, completed 2-of-4 passes for 77 yards, adding 22 rushing yards with a rushing touchdown in limited action. 
  • Made two starts in five appearances in 2024.  
  • Completed 34 passes for 481 yards with a touchdown 
  • Had a career-long 66-yard pass 
  • Rushed for 19 yards on 40 attempts with a career-long 15-yard run 
  • Scored one rushing touchdown during the season 
  • Made first career start vs. Virginia (11/30), completing 14 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown

  • Tallied 16 tackles with seven solo and nine assisted during rookie season. 
  • Posted a career-best five total tackles, including two solo, against Kennesaw State (11/15).

  • Was a two-time All-Area and All-County selection 
  • Named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year twice. 
  • Registered 179 total tackles, including 33 tackles for loss, 18 sacks in two years as a varsity letterwinner.

  • Recorded 112 tackles with 10 tackles for loss and four sacks as a senior

Greg Knox | OL | Pineville, La. | 6'6" | 303 lbs.

  • Spent the previous four seasons at McNeese State. 
  • Saw action in 25 games throughout his career on the offensive line. 
  • Appeared in all 12 games during the 2025 season. 
  • Started in nine of 11 games played in 2024, tallying 559 total snaps. 
  • Allowed zero logged sacks in his snaps played. 
  • Played in two games as true freshman in 2023 before taking a redshirt year. 
  • Attended Peabody High School in Louisiana. 
  • Named First Team LSWA Class 4A All-State honoree. 
  • A three-time First Team 3-4A All-District member.

Zachary Betts | DL | Bowie, Md. | 6'2" | 245 lbs.

  • Played two seasons at Saint Francis (Pa.).  
  • Tallied 63 tackles, with 38 solo and 25 assisted, in two years. 
  • Added 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks, a pass breakup, a forced fumble, seven QB hurries and a blocked kick. 
  • During the 2025 season, posted 49 total tackles, including 32 solo, nine tackles for loss and six sacks. 
  • Also had a forced fumble, five QB hurries, a pass breakup and a blocked kick. 
  • Had a career-high nine tackles at Buffalo (9/6/25), including six solo.  
  • Recorded a career-best 1.5 tackles for loss at ULM (8/28/25) and vs. LIU (11/15/25).

  • Had one solo tackle on the year vs. Houston. 
  • As a senior at Brown, only appeared in four games due to injury. 
  • Registered 16 tackles, including 13 solo, with five pass breakups and an interception in the shortened season. 
  • Was a team captain.  
  • Named to the 2024 Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List. 
  • Earned a spot on the 2024 Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List 
  • One of 63 FCS players named to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000, highlighting the top 1000 NFL prospects.

  • A consensus three-star prospect per ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals and On3. 
  • Rated the No. 159 defensive end prospect nationally by ESPN.

  • Had a 65.0 completion percentage (215-for-331) and averaged 7.8 yards per completion.
  • Had a career-best 323 passing yards and a touchdown against Alcron State while adding 33 yards on the ground with a rushing TD.
  • Totaled 299 yards and three passing touchdowns at Alabama A&M and added a rushing TD for a four touchdown day. 
  • Finished that Alabama A&M game with 20-for-24 for an 83.3 completion percentage.

Devin Matthews | WR | Seguin, Texas | 5'9" | 185 lbs.

  • Played the last three seasons at East Texas A&M. 
  • In 2025, saw action in 11 games and totaled 36 receptions for 649 yards and seven touchdowns (59 yards per game). 
  • Also rushed the ball twice for 26 yards and had two kickoff returns for 20 yards. 
  • In 2024, appeared in nine games primarily on special teams.  
  • Finished that 2024 season with one catch, 22 kick returns (525 yards) and nine punt returns (110). 
  • Played in four games as a freshman in 2023 and caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown while adding one rushing attempt.  
  • Was the District 12-5A MVP at Seguin High School. 
  • Named to the Padilla Poll Coaches Class 5A Division I All-State Team.

  • Named to the Coastal Athletic Association's Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll three times (2022-24). 
  • Played 11 games for the Tribe as a junior in 2025. 
  • As a sophomore in 2024, started all six games in which he played. 
  • In 2023 as redshirt freshman, played all 11 games with one start at right tackle in the win at Charleston Southern. 
  • As a freshman in 2022, appeared in two games. 
  • Before William & Mary, was a four-year letterwinner as an offensive and defensive lineman at Apollo-Ridge High School. 
  • A two-time all-conference first-team selection as an offensive lineman (2020, 2021).

Justin Krueger | DL | Marietta, Ga. | 6'4" | 250 lbs.

  • Spent the previous two seasons at William & Mary. 
  • In 2025, played all 12 games and totaled 52 tackles (20 solo, 32 assists), including eight tackles for loss and two sacks. 
  • Also had three pass breakups and two forced fumbles. 
  • Earned Third Team All-CAA honors. 
  • Named to the FCS Football Central Freshman All-America Team. 
  • Played four games as a true freshman in 2024. 
  • Made five tackles (four solo). 
  • Before William & Mary, was a three-year letterwinner as a defensive and offensive lineman at Walton High School. 
  • A First Team All-Region selection on both sides of the ball. 
  • Totaled 55 tackles, 15.0 TFL and 7.0 sacks as a senior. 
  • Helped lead his team to a state runner-up finish, and it ranked as high as No. 8 in the country. 
  • His father, John, was a punter at Duke and played quarterback professionally in the Arena League and in Spain. 

Jordan Washington | RB | Helena, Ala. | 6'1" | 215 lbs. 
Previous School(s): Murray State 
Date: January 17 

  • Spent the previous two seasons at Murray State. 
  • Played all 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2025, totaling 86 carries for 340 yards and three touchdowns. 
  • Also had 22 catches for 206 yards and a touchdown and returned five kicks for 74 yards. 
  • Played in four games as a true freshman in 2024. 
  • Had 22 carries for 68 yards and scored his first touchdown at North Dakota. 
  • Started the season opener at Missouri to become the first true freshman to start at running back for the Racers since 2017.  
  • Was rated as a three-star prospect by both 24/7 Sports and On3 coming out of Helena High School.  
  • Named Shelby County Player of the Year in 2023. 
  • Rushed for 1,810 yards and 24 TD's in 2023. 
  • Also earned First-Team All-State honors.  

Joseph Griffin Jr. | WR | Springfield, Mass. | 6'2" | 208 lbs. 
Previous School(s): Wisconsin and Boston College 
Date: January 20

  • Spent the previous two seasons at Wisconsin after playing at Boston College in 2022 and 2023.  
  • As a redshirt senior in 2025, played in four games and made one catch for five yards against MTSU. 
  • Did not appear in any games for the Badgers in 2024.  
  • At Boston College in 2023, played all 12 games and caught 25 passes for 345 yards and a touchdown. 
  • Made a season-high five catches for a season-best 76 yards against Louisville. 
  • As a freshman in 2022 with the Eagles, started five games and played in eight. 
  • Made 18 catches for 234 yards and five touchdowns. 
  • Caught his first career touchdown on a four-yard score at Florida State. 
  • Totaled two receptions, including a touchdown, against Louisville. 
  • Posted a season-high 103 yards on five catches with two touchdowns against Duke (11/4). 
  • Scored the game-winning touchdown in the final minute on a two-yard catch at North Carolina State. 
  • A four-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals, and three-star by ESPN coming out of Springfield Central, where he played with fellow Minuteman signeee William "Pop" Watson III.  
  • The consensus No. 1 wide receiver in Massachusetts and was rated the No. 50 wide receiver in the class by Rivals. 
  • Helped lead Springfield Central to a Division 1 Super Bowl state title. 
  • Caught 49 passes for 896 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. 
  •  Posted nine receptions for 186 yards, including 34-yard and 54-yard touchdowns, in the state semifinals to reach the title game. 
  • Finished his high school career with 102 receptions for 1,913 yards and 22 touchdowns. 

Aubrey Melvin | DL | Brandywine, Maryland | 6'3" | 300 lbs.

  • Spent his 2025 freshman season at UConn but did not appear in a game. 
  • Played high school football at Gwynn Park. 
  • Recorded 60 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks and added two fumble recoveries.  
  • Earned County Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior. 

Kendric Council | LB | Upper Marlboro, Md.| 6'2" | 220 lbs.

Date: January 21 

  • Spent the previous two seasons at St. Francis University (Pa.). 
  • In 2025, appeared in 10 games and recorded 53 tackles (30 solo, 23 assisted). 
  • Added 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks on the season. 
  • Opened the year with five tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss at ULM. 
  • Posted a season-high seven tackles and one tackle for loss at Buffalo.

  • Spent the 2025 season at Marshall, which followed one season at Tennessee (2022) and two seasons at Cal (2023-24). 
  • Last season at Marshall, appeared in nine games and had 35 carries for 197 yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry and added two rushing touchdowns. 
  • Also had three receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. 
  • Played three games with Cal in 2024, six games with Cal in 2023 and three games with Tennessee in 2022. 
  • In his three seasons with Cal and Tennessee, totaled 128 yards on 32 carries. 
  • Coming out of East Paulding High School, was rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports Composite, ESPN, On3, On3 Consensus and Rivals. 
  • Ranked as the 22nd-best RB prospect in the Class of 2022. 
  • Rushed for 3,264 yards and 30 touchdowns over his final two high school seasons. 
  • Earned Paulding County Player of the Year honors and was a team captain as a senior (2021) when he rushed for 1,896 yards and 14 touchdowns while totaling 2,116 all-purpose yards. 
  • Ran for 1,368 yards and scored 16 touchdowns on the ground as a junior (2020) when he was an All-State selection and the Region 5-6A Offensive Player of the Year. 
  • Was also a member of track and field, basketball and lacrosse teams during his prep career.
