Three Selected As UMass Student-Athletes Of The Week

Hinspeter, Faessler and Tye to be honored at UMass Sports Luncheon.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts student-athletes Timmy Hinspeter of football, and Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye of tennis were selected as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by UMassFive College Credit Union.
At No. 19/20 Missouri, redshirt junior linebacker Hinspeter had 17 tackles (five solo) to go along with his first career interception, a sack and two tackles for loss. The Montgomery, N.Y. was able to return his interception 63 yards to set up UMass' touchdown as well.
It marked the highest single-game tackle total for a Minuteman since Jalen Mackie had 19 against Army on Nov. 26, 2022.
Together, Faessler and Tye combined for a 9-3 record at the Dartmouth Invitational this past weekend. Each played at the top singles and doubles spots, tallying wins over Boston College, UConn, Dartmouth and Brown.
