From The MAC
This marks the second year of the new conference schedule format. This model allows each team to face all 12 conference opponents home and away at least once during a three-year cycle. Additionally, the format incorporates protected opponents based on geographic location and rivalries and eliminates the MAC East and West Divisions.
A historic addition to this year's slate, the University of Massachusetts will officially compete in its first season as a full-fledged MAC member. The Minutemen enter the conference race with the opportunity to battle for a spot in the MAC Football Championship.
The 29th MAC Football Championship Game will be held on Saturday, December 6 (Time TBA) between the top two teams based on conference winning percentage. This will mark the 22nd MAC Football Championship game at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions.
