Gaskins And Frazee Named Student-Athletes Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts student-athletes Godot Gaskins of men's track and field and Megan Frazee of women's track and field were named as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by UMassFive College Credit Union. The duo will be recognized on Wednesday at the UMass Sports Luncheon at the Berkshire Dining Commons.
Gaskins led the Minutemen to a third place finish after winning three medals at the Atlantic 10 Championship this past weekend. Gaskins helped set the new school record in the 4x100m relay, as the team took bronze. The Marblehead, Massachusetts native also won silver medals in both the 200m and the 400m. His 200m time of 21.34 was the fifth fastest time in program history while his 400m time of 46.95 was his fastest of the season. With his performance, Gaskins was named the meet's Most Outstanding Track Performer.
Sophomore Megan Frazee led the Minutewomen on day one of the Atlantic 10 Championship this past weekend. Frazee earned a gold medal in the pole vault with a jump of 13' 1.5". The jump is a new school record, besting her previous mark of 12' 8.75" which she set at last year's conference meet in Amherst.
