AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts women's head basketball Mike Leflar announced the signing of transfer guard Momo LaClair on Tuesday afternoon. LaClair joins the Minutewomen after spending the last three seasons at Drexel.
"I am excited to welcome Momo LaClair to UMass," said Leflar. "I watched Mo play in high school and AAU and have known her game for quite a while. She is a competitor who brings experience to our back court. I was impressed with Mo's maturity throughout the process and look forward to her making us better."
LaClair appeared in 30 games with one start as a junior in 2023-24, averaging 3.2 points per game on 46-percent from the field to go along with 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. The guard posted a season-high 12 points against Hampton and finished with season best numbers in rebounds with eight at the College of Charleston and assists with seven at William & Mary.
Before joining Drexel, LaClair was a five-year member and 1,000 career point scorer at Jamesville-DeWitt High School. LaClair earned conference player of the year honors and was a two-time First-Team All-Central New York selection. She helped lead the Red Rams to three regional titles and two state championships and knocked down the game-winning shot in the New York Federation Cup Championships.
