Womenโs Hoops Adds Lajoie, Wilensky To Staff

AJ Lajoie will serve as the Director of Operations while Adam Wilensky will be the teamโs Director of Scouting and Video Operations.
AMHERST, Mass. โ University of Massachusetts women's basketball head coach Mike Leflar announced the hires of AJ Lajoie as the Director of Operations and Adam Wilensky as the Director of Scouting and Video Operations on Monday afternoon.

Lajoie moves into the Director of Operations role after spending the last four-plus years as an equipment manager at UMass. At UMass, Lajoie served as the head manager for 10 teams and assisted with nine other squads within the department after joining the staff in September of 2019. Lajoie also spent time as an assistant boys basketball coach at Holyoke High School from November 2015 to March 2022 and worked numerous NCAA postseason events. Lajoie graduated with a bachelor's degree from Lasell College in December of 2018 and received his Master's of Sport Administration from Cincinnati in 2023.

Wilensky joins the UMass staff after spending the 2023-24 season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Rhode Island College, where he helped the Anchormen improve their record from 8-16 the season prior to a 15-12 mark and a playoff semifinal appearance. Wilensky's primary duties included video coordination, on-court coaching, and academic success. Wilensky served as a student manager for the women's basketball team at UMass as an undergraduate from 2021-23. Wilensky helped with practice setup and execution, analytical breakdowns, and in-game support for a team that secured its first NCAA berth since 1998 and an Atlantic 10 regular season title during the 2022-23 campaign. A Massachusetts native, Wilensky graduated from Needham High School in 2019 and earned a bachelor's degree in both Sport Management and Spanish Linguistics from UMass in 2023.
