Matt Travisano, Ryan Ufko, Matt Cross and Katelyn Gorgenyi will be recognized on Wednesday at the UMass Sports Luncheon.

AMHERST, Mass. – Four student-athletes were selected as the UMassFive Student-Athletes of the Week, as announced on Tuesday. Matt Travisano of baseball, Ryan Ufko of hockey, Matt Cross of men's basketball and Katelyn Gorgenyi of women's track and field received the accolade and will be recognized on Wednesday afternoon during the UMass Sports Luncheon at the Berkshire Dining Commons.

Travisano earned a .467 batting average, a .583 on-base percentage and a .533 slugging percentage on a 1-3 weekend for the Minutemen. Travisano recorded seven hits, including a double, two RBI, two runs in 15 at bats. The redshirt freshman went 4-for-5, and added two runs with a RBI in the 10-5 victory over No. 13-ranked Virginia on the game two of the series. In game three, he tallied two hits, including a double, and had a RBI in game three. On the field, the shortstop totaled four putouts and eight assists across three contests and had only one error.

Ufko led UMass in scoring in a 2-0-0 week with four points on three goals and an assist, which included two overtime game winners over UMass Lowell. He was +2 with 4 blocks, as well, and scored on three of five shots for a 60% shooting percentage. In Friday's 2-1 OT road win at UMass Lowell, Ufko blocked three shots and scored the deciding goal in the extra frame of his 100th career game. On Saturday, he factored in three of four goals in a come-from-behind OT victory. He started the contest by setting up a shorthanded goal that opened the scoring, while later scoring on the power play in the third period to tie the score at three. He then scored another power play goal in overtime to seal the win for the Minutemen over the River Hawks.

Cross put together two all-around performances to propel the Minutemen to back-to-back road wins over George Washington (69-57) and Davidson (69-67). The Beverly, Massachusetts native averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds while shooting a torrid 68 percent from the field over the two victories. Cross was key in the victory over Davidson, leading the way for the Minutemen, scoring 26 points including 17 in the second half alone. The forward made the most of his opportunities shooting 9-of-12 from the field and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe including four in the final two minutes.  In his senior season, Matt Cross has helped lead the Minutemen to double-digit conference victories for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

Gorgenyi took gold in the 60m hurdles for the second consecutive weekend at the New England (NEICAAA) Championships. Gorgenyi's winning time of 8.60 is a new personal best and is good for second all-time at UMass.
