Three Selected As UMass Student-Athletes Of The Week

Hack, Bell and Rose to be honored at UMass Sports Luncheon.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts student-athletes Danielle Hack of tennis, Andrew Bell of men's swimming and diving, and Alexsia Rose of women's basketball were selected as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by UMassFive College Credit Union. The trio will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday at the Berkshire Dining Commons.
Hack and the Minutewomen went 1-0 on the weekend, defeating Quinnipiac, 5-2, on Saturday. Hack went 2-0 overall on the day, winning her doubles and singles matches. In doubles play, Hack and partner Thamonpan Jonglertrakul downed their Bobcats opponents 6-2 at court No. 1, before winning 6-2, 6-4, at the No. 1 singles position.
Bell picked up two gold medals for the Minutemen on Saturday at Fordham. In the one-meter dive, Bell had a six-dive total of 363.30, before winning the three-meter dive with a personal-best score of 403.73. His 403.73 total in the three-meter dive broke a school record Bell held previously from this season of 397.28.
Rose averaged 20.0 points and 3.5 assists per game over two contests for the Minutewomen last week. Rose began the week by trying her career-high in scoring with 18 points against La Salle while shooting 8-of-9 from the free throw line. The senior surpassed her career-high in the following game at Saint Joseph's on Saturday, finishing with 22 points and four assists while knocking down 10 field goals.
