Megan Olbrys records double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds

LOWELL, Mass. -- The Minutewomen (5-6, 0-0 A-10) wrapped up non-conference play in dominating fashion, besting UMass Lowell (2-10, 0-0 AE) in the latest edition of Kennedy Cup action on Friday afternoon. Massachusetts refused to concede a single quarter, out-scoring the Riverhawks 18-4 in the final quarter to close out the 53-33 victory on the road.

Megan Olbrys led UMass with 15 points and 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season, adding four assists, two steals, and one block.

Chinenye Odenigbo converted on five of her six attempts from the field, scoring 10 points and grabbing three rebounds.

  • Massachusetts would extend its lead to double-figures with 6:32 left in regulation after a steal and transition basket by Kulesza.
  • Three-straight layups by Olbrys, Kulesza, and McKayle capped off an 11-0 run by UMass in the fourth quarter.
  • UMass Lowell broke its scoreless spell with 2:02 left in the fourth quarter off a jumper by Rayne Durant.
  • The score was too little, too late as the Minutewomen ended the game on a 5-0 run and 16-2 run in the last 9:06 of regulation to secure the 53-33 win.
