Massachusetts Men's Track And Field Battles At Black & Gold Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team wrapped up action at the Black & Gold Invitational on Sunday at Bryant University. The performance was highlighted by three second-place finishes.

Highlights from Competition:

The 4x100-meter relay team of Felipe Gonzalez, Michael Harden, Christopher Matthews and Godot Gaskins ran a 42.32 for third place, while the team of Nasir Perry, Ethan Clark, Patrick Walsh and Michael Rodia ran a 42.63 for fourth place.

Perry was the runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking a 14.88.

In the 100-meter dash, Clark clocked a 10.91, good for fifth place. Rodia was on his heels, finishing the event in 11.02 seconds for sixth place, while Gonzalez followed closely behind with an eighth place finish in 11.09 seconds.

Daniel Dubsky placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.11 seconds.

Gaskins earned a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash, clocking a 21.77, while Harden captured fifth place in 21.98 seconds.

The top finisher for the Minutemen in the discus was Joseph Duggan, throwing 159' 6" for the runner-up position.

Tyler Glendon took sixth place in the long jump, leaping 20' 3.5", while Joachim Ennoo leapt 20' 0.5" for seventh place.

Anthony Pizzano threw 194' 7" for sixth place in javelin.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Matthews, Fredy Peralta, Bernd Martens and Riley Drew collected a second place finish in 3:23.42, while the team of Sean McKay, Mason Benton, Dubsky and Gaskins clocked a seventh place finish in 3:29.22.

The Minutemen return home for the Flagship Invitational meet on Saturday, April 8 at the UMass Track & Field Complex.
