Mayo Garners Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week Accolade

The weekly award marks the second of Mayo’s career and first A-10 Player of the Week honor
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Junior Ber'Nyah Mayo was selected as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday afternoon. Mayo collects the second weekly award of her career, while tabbing Player of the Week for the first time.
Mayo averaged 23.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 4.0 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game on a 2-0 week for the Minutewomen. Mayo registered 47 points across two contests, including a career-high 29 vs. Fordham (2/8). Against Fordham, the junior went 10-for-15 (.667) from the field, including 3-for-4 (.750) for beyond the arc, and made six of her eight attempts (.750) from the charity stripe. She also grabbed four boards, had three assists and three steals. She put up 18 more points at George Mason, going 7-for-12 (.583) from the field and was perfect from the free throw line. Mayo came down with six rebounds, dished out five dimes and tallied two swipes.
Mayo sits in third in the conference with 2.8 steals per game and in total steals with 70. In the nation, Mayo is 16th with her total steals, while placing 20th with her steals per game.
Massachusetts travels to Kingston, Rhode Island, on Thursday, February 16, for a matchup with Rhode Island at the Thomas M. Ryan Center. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
