the duo lead UMass to a 21-14 win at Army

AMHERST, Mass.– After leading the University of Massachusetts football team to a 21-14 victory at Army, Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams and Billy Wooden were named the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by UMassFive College Credit Union. Lynch-Adams and Wooden will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon at Berkshire Dining Commons on Wednesday.

Lynch-Adams rushed 34 times for 234 yards (6.9 yards/carry) and added three rushing touchdowns in the win at Army. His attempts, rushing yards and touchdowns marked career-high totals. He became the first UMass player to rush for three touchdowns in a game since Bilal Ally had three versus Georgia Southern on Oct. 21, 2017 and the first Minuteman to eclipse the 200-yard mark since Marquis Young had 240 yards on Nov. 27, 2015 at Buffalo.

On the season, Lynch-Adams has rushed for 926 yards on 178 carries and has also added 15 catches for 93 receiving yards. His 926 rushing yards ranks fourth in FBS (first among independents), while his 102.9 rushing yards per game ranks 13th in FBS (first among independents). He also has nine rushing touchdowns this season (tied for 12th in FBS).

Wooden finished with seven tackles at Army, while adding a sack and fumble recovery to go along with two quarterback hurries as the Minutemen held West Point to just 14 points.

For the year, Wooden ranks tied for second on the team with 39 total tackles and ranks third on the team with 16 solo tackles. He has a team-high nine tackles for loss and a team-best 5.5 sacks on the season (tied for 27th in FBS). The Towson, Maryland native also has a pass breakup, five quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries (tied for second in FBS).
