Sights and sounds from week one of preseason at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

One week ago today, Massachusetts opened its football training camp on the new turf at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. As Don Brown embarks on his 45th year patrolling the sidelines and first year back act UMass since 2008, there was a tangible energy (and Thunderstruck booming throughout the facility) as the new staff and 2022 Minutemen took to the field for the first time together.

The group is working hard at installing a new offense under offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Steve Casula, while Brown and defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Keith Dudzinski head up the installation of the team’s new defense. On Thursday, August 11, the Minutemen threw on the pads for the first time this camp.

The content has been flowing over the first seven days of camp and will continue to roll out in days to come with positional breakdowns with the coaching staff on the horizon.
