Seven Minutemen Earn Pro Football Network All-Independent Honors

AMHERST, Mass. – Seven University of Massachusetts football players earned 2022 Pro Football Network All-Independent team honors, including Cameron Sullivan-Brown (Second Team WR), Jalen Mackie (First Team LB), Marcus Cushnie (Second Team Edge), Jordan Mahoney (Second Team CB), Josh Wallace (Second Team CB), Tyler Rudolph (Second Team S) and Greg Desrosiers Jr. (Second Team KR).  

Cameron Sullivan-Brown 
Sullivan-Brown played in 10 games and caught 27 passes for 373 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 13.81 yards per catch and finished the year with a season-high six catches against Army. The Bowie, Maryland native's breakout game came against Connecticut when he totaled a career-best 124 receiving yards including a career-long 53-yard catch for a touchdown. 

Jalen Mackie 
One of the most consistent UMass players from game one, Mackie was the team leader with 100 tackles this past season (38 solo) while adding 3.5 sacks and 15.0 TFL from the middle linebacker position. He had a season-high seven solo tackles in the season opener at Tulane. Mackie, who is from Miramar, Florida, closed out the season with 21 tackles against Army (six solo) including two TFL's. 

Marcus Cushnie 
Cushnie ranked fourth on the team with 47.0 tackles, on the year including 23 solo and 24 assisted. He totaled 13.0 TFL's for a team-high 49 yards and had a team-best 5.5 sacks. The West Palm Beach, Florida native also led the team with five quarterback hurries on the year, including two at Toledo. 

Jordan Mahoney 
Mahoney had a knack of making big plays on the defensive side of the ball all season. He totaled a team-best three interceptions, added six pass breakups, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 42 tackles (28 solo). He returned an interception 94 yards for a touchdown against Stony Brook and added a scoop-and-score for two defensive touchdowns on the season. His three fumble recoveries rank third in the FBS. He is one of five FBS players with a pick six and a scoop-and-score this season. 

Josh Wallace 
From his cornerback position, Wallace had two interceptions, eight pass breakups and one fumble recovery to go along with 41 tackles (32 solo) this past season. He also added three tackles for loss. His interceptions were against Stony Brook and Buffalo, while his fumble recovery came at Texas A&M. The Bowie, Maryland native had six solo tackles in the game at Toledo.  

Tyler Rudolph  
Rudolph was Massachusetts' second-leading tackler, totaling 62.0 on the season, including 37 solo. He had a pair of interceptions, joining Mahoney and Wallace as Minutemen with at least two interceptions on the season. A native of Waterbury, Connecticut, Rudolph added five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Two of his five pass breakups came in the victory over Stony Brook. 
 
Greg Desrosiers Jr. 
Desrosiers Jr. was the primary kick returner for Massachusetts, totaling 599 kickoff return yards on 29 returns for a 20.66 average. His 599 kick return yards rank 11th in FBS. As a running back, the Lawrence, Massachusetts native carried the ball 44 times for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
