Massachusetts Athletics Posts 90% Graduation Success Rating

Each women’s team had a 100 Graduation Success Rating

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Athletics posted a 90% Graduation Success Rate for the 2012-13 to 2015-16 freshman cohorts the NCAA announced as part of the annual NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program. Massachusetts Athletics also posted a 985 APR.

Based on NCAA groupings for GSR ratings, 10 of Massachusetts' 17 programs earned perfect 100 scores including men's cross country/track as well as women's cross country/track, rowing, field hockey, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's swimming and women's tennis. Men's lacrosse (97) and baseball (92) also posted rates higher than 90%.

Differing from the Federal Graduation Rate, the NCAA GSR holds colleges accountable for student-athletes who transfer to their school, but the GSR does not penalize colleges whose student-athletes leave the institution in good academic standing.
