Meet The Minutemen: Dyondre Dominguez
September 30, 2020 | Men's Basketball
AMHERST, Mass. -- Over the next several weeks, we'll be introducing you to the newest members of the 2020-21 UMass men's basketball team. Today, meet Dyondre Dominguez, a freshman forward from Providence, R.I.
Dominguez played the 2019-20 season at Woodstock Academy with teammates Cairo McCrory and Ronnie DeGray III, helping the Centaurs to a 29-8 record and a National Prep Championship tournament berth. He also played for the New Hampton School previously.
"Dyondre will come in and be ready to play," said head coach Matt McCall. "When you look at how we want to play at the offensive end of the floor and can get a guy in the small forward/power forward spot who can shoot the ball like Dyondre can, it takes your offense to a completely different level. He has a tremendous skillset, size and length which will add to how we want to play defensively."
Dominguez was a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, the No. 9 player from Rhode Island, and was also ranked as the No. 19 player in New England by NERR.
