DALLAS - University of Massachusetts football redshirt senior offensive lineman Larnel Coleman earned selection to the Outland Trophy Watch List, as announced by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Tuesday. Awarded annually, the Outland Trophy recognizes the top interior lineman on offense or defense across FBS.
Coleman is one of 32 offensive tackles named to the preseason watch list. The 6-foot-7, 300-pound native of Malden, Massachusetts, holds starting experience at both offensive tackle spots. He started at right tackle in all 12 games during 2018 before sliding over to left tackle for the entirety of 2019. Coleman is the third all-time Minuteman selected for the Outland Trophy Watch List, joining Anthony Dima (2013) and Matt Sparks (2015).
The recipient of the 75th Outland Trophy will be announced in December. The official presentation to the winner will be made in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee, scheduled for Jan. 13, 2021.
