Saturday’s Football Fan Experiences: Hall of Fame Game

UMass Athletics recognizes its 2019 Hall of Fame Class prior to the 3:30 p.m. kickoff against Akron
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts football plays its next home game on Sat., Sept. 28 at McGuirk Alumni Stadium against Akron with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. Prior to the game, UMass Athletics will recognize its Hall of Fame Class of 2019, which includes Brandice Balschmiter (softball), Todd Bankhead (football), Clarence Hill (men's basketball) and Jenn Salisbury (field hockey).
The UMass and Akron coaching staffs will also be supporting Coach To Cure MD, a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest national charity devoted exclusively to Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Both staffs will be wearing the Coach To Cure MD patch on their gameday attire as part of the nation-wide effort to bring awareness to Coach to Cure MD on Sat., Sept. 28.
11:30 AM – 3:30 PM • FAN EXPERIENCE TENT • STADIUM DRIVE
The UMass Football Gameday Fan Experience Tent returns for the 2019 season. Centrally located on Stadium Drive near the main entrance to McGuirk Alumni Stadium, the fan experience tent offers a host of activities for families visiting McGuirk Alumni Stadium on Saturday, including:
1:20 PM • THE MINUTEMAN MARCH
The Minuteman March continues begins when Walt Bell's Minutemen disembark from their team buses at the Northwest corner of the Bernie Dallas Mall at 1:20 p.m. Fans are encouraged to line the walkway from Bernie Dallas Mall to the Martin Jacobson Football Performance Center to support the team as it arrives on gameday.

2:00 PM • McGUIRK ALUMNI STADIUM & COMMONWEALTH CLUB DOORS OPEN
Doors to McGuirk Alumni Stadium and the new Commonwealth Club, located beyond the South Endzone, open 90 minutes before kickoff.
Season passes for the Commonwealth Club are sold out for the 2019 season; however, fans can purchase single-game tickets to the event space. Passes will be available on a first come, first serve basis for $10 on gameday. Passes cannot be purchased in advance. Contact the UMass Ticket Office at 1-866-UMASS-TIX with questions regarding the Commonwealth Club.
2:15 PM • PREGAME CHEER AND DANCE PERFORMANCE
Catch the UMass Athletics Cheerleaders and the UMass Minuteman Marching Band at the Bernie Dallas Mall for a pregame performance setting the stage for the day's big event.
