Saturday's Football Fan Experiences: Valley Tally

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts Athletics will host its first football game of the 2019 season on Sat., Sept. 7 with the Southern Illinois Salukis visit McGuirk Alumni Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. Below is a breakdown of the day's activities that fans can make a part of their gameday at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Fans can purchase tickets for the game via 866-UMASS-TIX, online through the UMass Athletics Ticket Central page or in-person at the Mullins Center Box Office.

GAMEDAY PROMOTION: VALLEY TALLY

UMass will celebrate all of the great businesses in our area when the first annual Valley Tally game encourages local businesses and restaurants to display their UMass pride, and come out to the game.
Game programming will include announcements surrounding businesses in attendance, and all that they offer to the community.
UMass Athletics will also host a school supply drive to benefit Holyoke Public Schools during the day. Fans are encouraged to bring items and drop them off at the Fan Experience Tent prior to entering the stadium.

IN-GAME GIVEAWAYS: iPHONE X AND CHRIS YOUNG TICKETS

In recognition of the fan support that earned the UMass football Instagram account its 10,000th follower, UMass Athletics will give away an iPhone X to one of the fans in attendance at the Sat., Sept. 7 game against Southern Illinois and tickets to Chris Young's upcoming show at the Mullins Center.
Two lucky fans will be selected at random in the third quarter, with one winning the iPhone X and the other claiming the Chris Young tickets.

11:30 AM - 3:30 PM • FAN EXPERIENCE TENT • STADIUM DRIVE

The UMass Football Gameday Fan Experience Tent returns for the 2019 season. Centrally located on Stadium Drive near the main entrance to McGuirk Alumni Stadium, the fan experience tent offers a host of activities for families visiting McGuirk Alumni Stadium on Saturday, including:
- Bounce house
- Temporary tattoo station
- Photos with Sam the Minuteman
- Sam the Minuteman coloring station
- The Happy Face Painter (12:30 - 3:30 p.m.)
- School supply drive collection to benefit the Holyoke Public School System
- Opportunities to win UMass-branded prizes, including pens, keychains, keytags, cell phone wallets, stadium cups, car magnets, vehicle decals and more

1:30 PM • THE MINUTEMAN MARCH

The Minuteman March moves to its new location beginning with Saturday's game against Southern Illinois when Walt Bell's Minutemen disembark from their team buses at the Northwest corner of the Bernie Dallas Mall at 1:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to line the walkway from Bernie Dallas Mall to the Martin Jacobson Football Performance Center to support the team as it arrives on gameday.

2:00 PM • McGUIRK ALUMNI STADIUM & COMMONWEALTH CLUB DOORS OPEN

Doors to McGuirk Alumni Stadium and the new Commonwealth Club, located beyond the South Endzone, open 90 minutes before kickoff.
The Commonwealth Club is completely sold out for the Sat., Sept. 7 game against Southern Illinois and is sold out of 2019 season passes as well; however, fans can purchase single-game tickets to the event space beginning with the Sat., Sept. 21 game against Coastal Carolina.

2:15 PM • PREGAME CHEER AND DANCE PERFORMANCE

Catch the UMass Athletics Cheerleaders and the UMass Minuteman Marching Band at the Bernie Dallas Mall for a pregame performance setting the stage for the day's big event
