Young Drafted By XFL's Dallas Renegades Franchise

Former football running back graduated among program's all-time rushing leaders

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts football alumnus Marquis Young (2015-18) was selected by the Dallas Renegades during the 2020 XFL Draft's open phase segment on Wednesday. He was selected during phase one of the open draft in the sixth round. Young, who spent portions of the summer and fall in the National Football League (NFL), ran for 3,631 yards and 29 rushing touchdowns during his four seasons competing for the Minutemen.

The Fairport, New York, native was a three-year starter and four-year contributor to the Massachusetts offense and finished his tenure as a Minuteman with the fifth-most rushing yards in program history, and the most in the team's FBS history. The all-around performer added 900 kick return yards over 40 attempts (22.5 per return) and totaled 671 receiving yards on 98 catches (6.8 per reception).
