UMass Athletics Hosts Football Gridiron Club Golf Classic On Mon., July 30

Individual and group registration for Pinehills Golf Club-hosted event remains open through Mon., July 23
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts Athletics will host the annual Football Gridiron Club Golf Classic at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Mon., July 30. The event begin with registration at 9:30 a.m., followed by the shotgun-scramble start at 11 a.m., a cocktail hour beginning at 4 p.m. and dinner, awards and a live auction at 5 p.m.
Massachusetts football will honor one of its all-time greatest student-athletes during the event's dinner hour, Marcel Shipp, who set numerous season and career rushing records when he guided the program to its 1998 National Championship victory. Shipp went on to play in the NFL for eight seasons, returned to Massachusetts as the team's running backs coach in 2014 and also coached with the New York Jets.
Registration remains open for the 2018 Gridiron Club Golf Outing through Mon., July 23. Contact Assistant Director of Athletic Development Jason Germain (jag@umass.edu) for more information on registration and all sponsorship opportunities for the event.
Individual golfers can register for $275, which includes a $100 tax-deductible contribution, greens fee, cart, rangle balls, lunch, dinner and a tournament gift. Four players can register as a group for $1,100, which includes a $400 tax-deductible contribution, greens fee, two carts, range balls, lunch, dinner and four tournament gifts.
Recent graduates (2014-18) receive a discounted participation cost of $175, while those interested in attending dinner only can do so for $75.
