Donte Clark broke the Minutemen out of their scoring slump with a jumper in the paint and two at the foul line on the next possession and moved Massachusetts back within five of the Bonnies. However, St. Bonaventure shot 55.2 percent in the first half and scored the final 10 points of the frame for a 44-26 lead at the break.
