Putney Named to NBA D-League All Star Game

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's basketball alumnus Raphiael Putney was named to the NBA D-League All Star Game this week. Putney was one of only 24 players chosen for the two teams.
Putney, who plays for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, ranks among the NBA D-League leaders in scoring, rebounding and blocks in his second season playing in the NBADL. His 18.9 points per game stand 14th among all players while he is seventh in rebounds (9.3) and second in blocks (2.6).
The game will be played live on NBA TV and NBA TV Canada on Sat., Feb. 13 at 2 p.m.
Putney competed for head coach Derek Kellogg as a Minuteman from 2009-14 and finished with 1,017 points, 627 rebounds, 154 assists, 153 steals and 96 steals as a four-year contributor and three-year starter with 131 appearances total.
Putney is an unrestricted free agent and is eligible to be signed by any NBA team as a result.
