Breneman Named to Mackey Award Watch List

AMHERST, Mass. University of Massachusetts redshirt junior Adam Breneman has been named to the 2016 John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List, presented annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end.
 
Breneman, new to Massachusetts' roster in 2016, has started all six games. He's tied for the team lead with 28 receptions while totaling 296 yards (No. 2 on the team). He's hauled in two touchdowns while averaging 10.6 yards per catch. Breneman ranks No. 3 nationally in receptions among tight ends.
 
The Mackey Award recipient is selected by a vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee, will be announced on December 7, 2016 and then presented live on December 8, 2016 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU. Other key dates include the announcement of the 2016 Mackey Semifinalists on Nov. 14 and the 2016 Mackey Finalists on Nov. 22.
