LANCASTER, Pa. - University of Massachusetts field hockey incoming-freshman Alex Halpin was one of five goalkeepers chosen for the United States U19 National Camp, as announced by USA Field Hockey. Halpin joins 36 additional selections for the u19 portion of the training session, which also includes sections for u21 and u17 participation. She will train at the u19 national camp from July 5-8.

A three-year goalie at Lakeland Senior High School, Halpin backstopped the team to a pair of New York State Class B State Championships in 2013 and 2014 as the squad went undefeated in both seasons. Previously this summer, she trained at Spooky Nook Sports, the home for USA Field Hockey, during the 2015 Futures Elite Championship from June 30 - July 3.

Halpin will begin her University of Massachusetts field hockey career when the Minutewomen open their 2015 season with a neutral-site game against New Hampshire in Boston on Saturday, Aug. 29.
