AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts field hockey program and head coach Carla Tagliente announced the 2015 team schedule on Friday afternoon. Tagliente will challenge the Minutewomen against another tough slate in 2015 as the squad will face seven 2014 NCAA Tournament participants as it looks to gain its 15th all-time Atlantic 10 Championship in 2015.

The seven NCAA Tournament participants from a season ago UMass faces during 2015 include national champion UConn and second place finisher Syracuse. Boston College, Boston University, Louisville, Richmond and Stanford are also on the docket.

The season begins on Aug. 29 against New Hampshire with a neutral site matchup in Boston, Massachusetts, at 6 p.m. The squad returns to the pitch 24 hours later for its annual meeting with Boston University. It marks the 36th meeting in the series, which dates back to 1979.

After two more road games at Northeastern (Sept. 3) and Syracuse (Sept. 6), the Minutewomen play at home for the first time in 2015 during a Sept. 11 meeting with UMass-Lowell. Play against the River Hawks kicks off a five-game homestand for the Maroon and White.

After UMass-Lowell, Massachusetts hosts Dartmouth on Sept. 13 and begins A-10 play against Saint Joseph's on Sept. 18. Richmond continues league competition for the Minutewomen (Sept. 20) before Stanford travels to Amherst for a Sept. 27 contest.

Four straight road contests directly follow the five-game homestand, beginning with a Oct. 2 trek to Saint Louis. The Minutewomen take a break from A-10 games with a trip to Louisville (Oct. 4) followed by away tilts at Lock Haven (Oct. 9) and Saint Francis (Oct. 11).

The Minutewomen return home to challenge VCU on Oct. 16, Boston College two days later and La Salle on Oct. 23 for 2015 Senior Day. The regular season ends with away competition at Connecticut (Oct. 28) and Davidson (Oct. 31).

Saint Joseph's will host the Atlantic 10 Championship in Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 6-7. The NCAA Tournament begins with the first round on Nov. 14 and continues the next day with quarterfinal action. The University of Michigan welcomes NCAA Final Four participants to Ann Arbor on Nov. 20 ahead of the 2015 NCAA Championship Game on Nov. 22.
