Fresh off Saturday's 17-point win over Boston University, the UMass women's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday afternoon against Hartford at the Mullins Center. The contest is set for a 2 p.m. tip-off and will be broadcast live on the UMass/A-10 Digital Network.
Following Tuesday's afternoon matinee, the Minutewomen will take eight days off to enjoy the holiday season before returning to the Mullins Center to host UMass Lowell on Wednesday, Dec. 30 as part of their five game home stand.
In Saturday's win, UMass exploded for 30 points in the third quarter alone to pull past the Terriers. Cierra Dillard had a game-high 20 points in the victory - her fourth 20-plus point performance of the season. Overall, four Minutewomen reached double figures including 13 from both Alyssa Lawrence and Bria Stallworth.
The Minutewomen have won three of their last five games and are now 2-1 overall at the Mullins Center.
Stallworth continues to have a spectacular start to her freshman campaign leading the team with 13.1 points per game and 3.2 assists per game. She is followed closely by Dillard who is averaging 12.3 points along with 3.2 assists as well. Lawrence continues to make an impact in her first year with UMass averaging 10.3 points per outing.
Harford enters the game with an identical 4-6 record after losing three straight to Boston College, Dartmouth and No. 21 Arizona State.
The Hawks are averaging 48.4 points per game and are led by Deanna Mayza who is the only player in double figures this year with 13.2 points.
