Coming off a tough two-point loss at Harvard on Wednesday night, the UMass women's basketball team will play at the Mullins Center for the first time this season as the Minutewomen host Buffalo (2-0) on Saturday at 5 p.m. The game will be streamed live via the UMass/A-10 Digital Network and broadcast on 91.1 FM WMUA as well.
UMass enters the game with a 1-1 record after a season-opening win at Holy Cross and Wednesday's 67-65 loss on the road to the Crimson. The mid-week tilt was a back-and-forth affair throughout and UMass had a chance for the win as Cierra Dillard was able to get off a clean three-point attempt that hit off the back of the iron just before the final horn.
For the second time in as many games, freshman guard Bria Stallworth netted 19 points along with four assists, while senior forward Rashida Timbilla recorded double-figure rebounding for the second straight game with 10 boards.
Stallworth leads UMass with a 19.0 point per game average followed by Dillard who averaging 14.5 points. Kymber Hill rounds out the top scorers with 10.5 points, while Timbilla is averaging 12 rebounds per outing.
Buffalo enters the game with a 2-0 record after wins over LIU Brooklyn and Canisius - both at home. The Bulls are averaging just over 54 points a game while allowing 39. The 39 points per game allowed currently leads the MAC and ranks sixth nationally in scoring defense.
Conversely, the Minutewomen have been playing a high-paced offense with a 69.5 point per game average.
