Game Notes - UMass Heads To Saint Joseph's Looking For A Philly Sweep

• UMass returns home after a week off between games to play host to Dayton on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
• The UMass Sports Network will feature the "Voice of the Minutemen" Josh Maurer handling play-by-play duties alongside analysts Tim Collins and Jason Germain. The game can be heard live starting at 6:40 p.m. ET on 105.5 FM WEEI (Springfield), 1440 AM WVEI (Worcester) and 1200 AM WXKS (Bloomberg Radio in Boston). The broadcast is also available online through www.UMassAthletics.com and on smart phones & tablets through the TuneIn app.
• the game will be televised nationally by ESPNU. Doug Kezirian and Adrian Branch will call the action.

TOP STORYLINES
• This is the 106th season of UMass Basketball. UMass has an all-time record of 1,239-1,088 (.531) in 2,327 games. UMass is 460-316 (.593) in conference games, including a 296-296 in Atlantic 10 play. The Minutemen have claimed 15 regular-season conference championships and five tournament titles.
• The Minutemen rank 103rd nationally in scoring (70.6), 29th in FT made (331), 36th in FT attempted (475), 146th in FT pct. (69.7%), 97th in steals (7.0) and 76th in blocks (4.4).
• UMass is 8-3 when scoring at least 70 points. It is 5-1 when leading at half and 1-1 when tied at the break.
• The Minutemen have scored at least 34 points in the first half seven times this season and are 6-1 in those games.
• UMass is 6-2 at the Mullins Center this season and 35-9 over the past four years. The team averages 73.9 ppg and is 5-0 when scoring over 70 points in Amherst.
• The Minutemen have outrebounded their opponents in each of the last four games, marking the first time this season that has occurred.

SERIES HISTORY WITH DAYTON
• This will be the 22nd meeting between UMass and Dayton, with the Flyers holding an 11-10 series lead. UMass has won six of the last 10 games overall, and is 7-4 at home.
• The home team has won the last six regular-season games and is 15-6 in the series. The last time a team didn't hold serve at home came four years ago when the Flyers defeated the Minutemen 78-50 in Amherst in the first round of the 2011 A-10 Tournament.
• Seven seasons ago, UMass ended Dayton's 13-game win streak as the No. 14/18 Flyers fell at home, 82-71 on Jan. 16, 2008. A year earlier, UMass ended the Flyers' 14-game home win streak at UD Arena with a 77-69 victory on Feb. 22, 2007.
• Derek Kellogg is 3-4 against Dayton including his first win as a head coach in his hometown of Springfield back in 2009, a 75-62 victory against the Flyers, who entered the game 14-1.

SAINT JOSEPH'S LEFTOVERS
• UMass saw its two-game A-10 road winning streak end and dropped its fourth-consecutive at Saint Joseph's.
• UMass out-rebounded SJU 33-29, marking the first time this season it has held the egde on the glass in four-consecutive games. The Minutemen are 5-4 when out-rebounding the opposition (1-0 when the tie).
• The Minutemen committed 13 turnovers but allowed the Hawks to net 19 points off those miscues. UMass had just four points from 9 SJU turnovers.
• UMass was not credited with a blocked shot, marking the first time that has happened this season.
• UMass had 13 offensive rebounds. That was the 13th time this season to reach double figures and the fourth-consecutive outing. The Minutemen are averaging 14.2 offensive boards per game in A-10 play.
• UMass was outscored 12-7 over the final 4:27, including a 9-0 stretch from the 4:27-to-0:51 point in the game.
• Junior PG Trey Davis led the team with 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers late in the game. He handed out three assists with just one turnover, pushing his totals over the past three games to 14-to-2 and 22-to-10 in A-10 play.
• In 18 minutes off the bench, redshirt freshman Zach Coleman was perfect from the floor, going 3-for-3 overall and 1-for-1 from outside for seven points. he also tied his career-high of five rebounds for the second time in the last four games.

IN THE MULLINS CENTER
• UMass has been very strong in the Mullins Center this year with a 6-2 record. Over the past four seasons, the Minutemen are 35-9 in regular-season games and 19-8 in Atlantic 10 contests in the facility.
• The Minutemen have been strong during the winter break as well, winning their last 13 non-league games when the classes are not in session.
• UMass is in its 22nd season of play at the William D. Mullins Memorial Center and has posted an all-time record of 207-89 (.700) following the URI game. The Minutemen also own a 114-55 (.675) all time record in regular-season Atlantic 10 Conference games at the Mullins Center, and a 4-2 mark in Atlantic 10 Tournament contests. The first game was played on Feb. 4, 1993 as UMass defeated West Virginia 64-59 in OT.
