 Weekly Game Notes - UMass Welcomes Manhattan To Mullins Morning Hoops

• Fresh off a come-from-behind win over Boston College at the TD Garden on Sunday, the Massachusetts men's basketball team returns home to face Manhattan in the ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Tuesday, beginning at 11 a.m.

• The UMass Sports Network will feature Director of Broadcasting Cody Chrusciel handling play-by-play duties alongside analyst Tim Collins. The game can be heard live starting at 10:40 AM (ET) on 105.5 FM WEEI (Springfield), 1440 AM WVEI (Worcester), and 1200 AM WXKS (Boston/Manchester/Providence). The broadcast is also available online through www.UMassAthletics.com and on smart phones and tablets through the TuneIn app.
• The game is televised by ESPN2 with Sean McDonough and Tim Welsh calling the action.

QUICK HITTERS
• This is the 106th season of UMass Basketball. UMass has an all-time record of 1,233-1,080 (.537) in 2,311 games. UMass is 458-314 (.593) in conference games, including a 294-294 in Atlantic 10 play. The Minutemen have claimed 15 regular-season conference championships and five tournament titles.
• Tuesday's game is the continuation of 3 games in 5 days (88 hours), 5 in 10 days and 6 in 13 days to start the season. 
• UMass is participating in the Tip-Off Marathon for the fourth time and third-consecutive season with a 2-1 (.667) record. The Minutemen have played at 11 p.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. previously. 
• The game is also the first of four that UMass will play over the next eight days as part of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic.

The team also returned to the national rankings for the first time since 1998-99, climbing as high as No. 12 in late January. 
• UMass entered the year having won 70 games in the last 3 years (25, 21 & 24) and participated in 2 NITs (reaching the Final Four in 2012) and 1 NCAA tourney. 
• UMass lost three senior starters from the 2013-14 squad in Chaz Williams (professionally in Turkey), Raphiael Putney (NBA D-League) and Sampson Carter (Slovakia/Portugal).

SERIES HISTORY
• UMass holds a 6-1 series lead over Manhattan and is 2-0 in Amherst, winning the first matchup in Curry Hick Cage on Feb. 25, 1961.
• The teams have not played in 21 seasons dating back to Feb. 18, 1994, when the 10th ranked Minutemen claimed a 68-54 victory in the 14th ever game at the Mullins Center. That game was the fourth home game to tip-off at Midnight during the John Calipari era
• It had been 16 years prior to the 1994 matchup that the schools had met, with UMass claiming a 88-74 win in the opening round of the UConn Classic in Hartford;
• The teams have played in four different states - Conn., Mass., N.Y. and Pa. - with UMass holding a 3-1 record in neutral site locations.
• UMass is 49-12 all-time against current members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, with recent victories coming against Siena four days ago, in 2011 & 2012, Rider on 11/12/10 and Marist on 12/8/07.
