Makaela Potts Chosen For Australian Indoor National Team

MELBOURNE, Australia - University of Massachusetts field hockey alumna Makaela Potts was one of 30 athletes tabbed for the Australian Indoor National Team, as announced by the organization on Monday. With the selection, Potts will compete for Australia at the Indoor World Cup in Leipzig, Germany, in January 2015.
A four-year standout for the Minutewomen from 2007-10, Potts was named NFHCA All-America on three occasions while twice being selected as the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year. The 5-foot-7 defender from Sydney, Australia, simultaneously contributed 58 points on offense through 20 goals and 18 assists in 89 games played, including 85 starts.
Potts will compete with the women's indoor national squad in a three-nation series in Brussels, Belgium, against the Belgian and French teams from Jan. 10-12, 2014, as the Australian side begins preparations for the 2105 Indoor World Cup.
