Prince Named UMass Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts field hockey senior defender Hannah Prince was chosen as the UMass Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon. Prince recorded three assists during the previous week, including two as the Minutewomen defeated Hofstra, 5-1 at Garber Field on Sunday for their seventh win of the year.

The luncheon, which is open to the public, will be held from Noon until 1:15 p.m. on the Mullins Center's third floor in the Massachusetts Room. Parking is available directly West of the Mullins Center free of charge and a $13 salad-to-dessert buffet is provided for all attendees to purchase.

Guest speakers will include field hockey head coach Carla Tagliente, tennis head coach Judy Dixon and football head coach Charley Molnar or a member of his coaching staff.

Prince earned an assist on Brooke Sabia's goal at No. 3 Connecticut on Wednesday, Sept. 18 before providing two more as the Minutemwomen fought by Hofstra on Sunday, Sept. 22. Through nine games of the 2013 schedule, Prince owns nine points on a pair of goals and five assists, the same stats total the Gorham, Maine, native compiled during 24 games as a junior.
