OLEAN, N.Y. - Chaz Williams posted his second-consecutive double-double with 26 points and 12 assists but Massachusetts fell to St. Bonaventure, 99-94, at the Reilly Center on Wednesday night.

UMass moved to 16-9 overall and 6-6 in Atlantic 10 play as it dropped its third-straight game. The Minutemen shot 44 percent and made nine 3-pointers. UMass was also 17-of-20 from the free throw line.

Terrell Vinson had 20 points before fouling out with 1:53 to play. Freddie Riley connected on 4-of-8 from outside as he finished with 17 points and Cady Lalanne netted 12 points and six boards in his first start since Dec. 1.

St. Bonaventure improved to 12-13 and 5-7 thanks to 39 points from Eric Mosley and 32-of-33 free throw shooting.

UMass went ahead 87-85 with 1:53 to play on a Sampson Carter layup to cap a 7-0 run, but Vinson was called for a flagrant foul on the play which sent the Bonnies to the line. Mosley made both free throws and two more on the ensuing live-ball play to give the home team the lead 89-87.

Williams put UMass back ahead with a three-point play before St. Bona got a layup and two free throws for a 93-90 lead with 33.1 left.

Williams' 3-pointer with 20 seconds left was short and the Bonnies got the rebound. The teams each scored six points in the final moments as the Minutemen were unable to get the margin under three.

UMass returns home to face Dayton on Saturday afternoon at the Mullins Center. The game will tip-off at 1 p.m., followed by the UMass hockey team hosting Maine at 7 p.m. later that day.
