CHANDLER, Ariz. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its NCAA Division I All-America listing on Monday morning, with University of Massachusetts junior defender Lauren Allymohamed and senior midfielder Alexa Sikalis chosen to the second team. The all-America awards mark the first for both Minutewomen.

Allymohamed, the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, provided eight goals for 16 points as a junior and served as the center defender on UMass' backline. The Seaford, England, native helped the Minutewomen limit opponents to 1.54 goals per game on only 9.6 shots in each contest as UMass won the Atlantic 10 Championship and reached the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.

Sikalis finished second in NCAA Division I with 20 assists for an average of 0.83 per game. The Acton-Boxborough Regional High School graduate totaled a single-season personal-best 24 points in as many games as a senior, notching at least one in 15 of her appearances.

The pair of all-America honors mark the 53rd and 54th issued to the Massachusetts field hockey team in the history of the program. Thando Zono was the lone Minutewoman chosen following the 2012 campaign, giving head coach Carla Tagliente three honorees in as many seasons leading the squad.
