BRONX, N.Y. - The UMass women's basketball team dropped its final road game of the regular season, falling 61-52 to Fordham on Wednesday night at Rose Hill Gym. Following the setback, the Minutewomen are now 7-21 overall, 3-10 in Atlantic 10 games, while the Rams moved to 12-16 overall and 4-9 in conference play after picking up the victory on the squad's Senior Day.

Jasmine Watson led all scorers with 18 points for the Minutewomen and completed her double-double with 11 rebounds. Senior Cerie Mosgrove followed with 14 points and seven boards, while sophomore Shakia Robinson added 12 points and seven rebounds. In front of a hometown crowd, freshman Kelly Robinson dished six assists.

With the offense clicking early on, UMass used an 8-0 stretch to build a 14-6 advantage with 13:45 on the clock in the first half. However, following Shakia Robinson's layup at the 14:49, the Minutewomen hit a severe scoring drought as Fordham went on to out-score UMass 28-4 in the remainder of the period. Robinson's basket in the closing seconds of the frame ended a stretch of nearly 15 minutes between field goals for the Minutewomen, leaving the squad with a 34-18 deficit at the intermission.

UMass could draw no closer than nine in the second half, despite finishing the contest shooting 43.5% (20-for-46) from the field. The Minutewomen recovered from a 1-5 start from three-point range with a 5-for-11 showing in the second half to end up 6-for-16 (37.5%) and shot 75% (6-for-8) at the free throw line. The Rams shot 23-for-59 (39.0%) from the floor, made 7-of-28 (25%) treys and converted 8-of-11 (72.7%) throws at the charity stripe. UMass finished with a 37-28 advantage on the boards, but Fordham made the most of the Minutewomen's miscues, scoring 26 points off turnovers to three for UMass.

Leading the way for the Rams, Caitlin Shadbolt finished with 16 points, while Tiffany Stokes chipped in with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Kristina Bell added nine points and Kyara Weekes and Arielle Collins handed out five assists apiece. Collins totaled four steals, as well.

UMass will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 26, taking on La Salle on Senior Day at 2 p.m.
