AMHERST, Mass. - Adriana Jordan of Columbus, Mich., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at UMass, head coach Sharon Dawley announced on Friday. The 5-9 guard from Port Huron High School in Huron, Mich., enters her senior campaign coming off all-state honorable mention selections in each of her three previous seasons playing under head coach Jeremy Rosenau.
The three-time first team MAC honoree was tabbed the conference's player of the year as a junior in 2011 after helping the Big Reds to a 16-4 record and the league title. She has been named the team's MVP on three occasions and was a MAC Academic Team honoree in 2009-10 as a sophomore.
With her senior campaign on the horizon, she is a mere 180 points away from breaking the all-time school scoring record at Port Huron. Jordan also competes as a track and field athlete in the high jump.
Playing AAU basketball, Jordan was a part of the AAU U-15 Motor City Suns Nike National Championship squad in 2009. She is the daughter of Andrea and Charles Wansedel.
