Atlantic 10 Tournament Notes

  • UMass won an Atlantic 10 Tournament game for the first time since 2002, breaking an eight-year losing streak of tourney games.

  • UMass will play in the Quarterfinals for the first time since 2008, when the Minutemen finished third to play their first game in that round.

  • The last time UMass advanced to the Quarterfinals with a first-round win was in 2002 over George Washington, 73-62. The Minutemen lost to Xavier in the quarterfinals, 65-59 in overtime.

  • UMass avenged it only other meeting with Charlotte in the A-10 Tournament, which was in 2008. The 49ers upset No. 3-seeded UMass, 69-65 in Atlantic City. The Minutemen went on to the NIT Championship game that season.

  • UMass is now 30-28 all-time in A-10 Tournament games, the second-most wins of any program behind Temple (49-19).

  • UMass is playing as the 11th seed, its lowest seed of all-time.

    Record Book Notes

    • Ricky Harris continues to stand third in career scoring at UMass with 24 in the game and now has 1,941. No.2 on the list is Monty Mack (2,183).

    • Harris is still fourth in career field goal attempts at UMass with 1,514, after he took 13 shots in the game. He is behind Lorenzo Sutton (1,518). No. 2 on the list is Monty Mack (1,888).

    • Harris also is also seventh in career made field goals list with five today. He now has 636 in his career. He stands behind No. 6 Lou Roe (661).

    • Harris continues to be second on the career 3-pointers attempted list with 10 in the game, giving him 786 in his career. The all-time leader is Monty Mack with 910.

    • Harris moved to a tied for second in career made 3-pointers (275) with three in the game. He passed Anthony Anderson (275) and stands behind only No. 1 Monty Mack (331).

    • Harris made 11 free throws and now has 394 and continues to stand sixth in career made free throws. No. 5 is Harper Williams (424).

    • Harris had no steals and stands in fourth place in career steals with 147 in his career. No. 3 is Anthony Anderson (150). No. 2is Monty Mack (154).

    • In playing his 128th career game, Harris is fifth in career games played. Next on the chart at No. 4 is Carmelo Travieso.

  • On the single-season lists, Harris has the 10th-best single-season with 594 in his senior season. Next on the list at No. 9 is Jim McCoy (623).

  • Also on the single-season list, Ricky Harris moved to ninth place in field goals attempted with 13 in the game, giving him 486. He passed Monty Mack (474), Clarence Hill (485). Harris stands eighth himself with 488 in 2007-08 to move to eighth. No. 7 on the chart is Clarence Hill (527) in 1965-66.

    Individual Player Notes • Ricky Harris scored in double-figures for the 29th time in 30 games he has played this season with 24. He has scored in double-figures in 93 in his 128 career games. Dating to his sophomore year, Harris has 90 of his last 96 games with 10 or more points. Harris hit that mark 6:01 into the game with UMass' first 10 points.

  • Harris scored more than 20 for the 15th time this season and 43rd time in his career with 24.

    • Harris continues to be second on the A-10's leading active scoring list (1,941).

  • Harris tied his career-high with 11 made free throws. He also made 11 against Cal Poly back in 2007.

  • Sean Carter drew his first charge of the season in the first half.
