Game Notes

UMass is now 6-1 in home games this season and has won six games in a row at home including the win in Boston at TD Garden, which was a home game.

UMass won the first time all season when not shooting at least 40 percent from the floor. UMass is now 1-7 when shooting less than 40 percent in addition to being 6-0 when shooting better than 40 percent.

UMass also won when shooting a worse percentage than its opponent for the first time all season. UMass is now 1-7 when shooting a worse percentage and is 6-0 when shooting a better mark.

Ricky Harris moved to seventh in career scoring at UMass with 21 in the game. He now has 1,573. He passed Donald Russell (1,558). Next on the list is No. 6 Tony Barbee (1,643).

Harris continues stand to eighth in career made free throws with six in the game. He now has 329. Next on the list is No. 7 Rashaun Freeman (379).

Harris continues to stand fourth in career made 3-pointers (236) and 3-pointers attempted (659). Next on the list in both is Carmelo Travieso, who had 245 makes on 666 attempts from 1993-97.

Individual Player Notes

Ricky Harris scored in double-figures for the 13th time this season in as many games with 21. Harris now has 24 games in a row in double-figures and 77 in his 111 career games. Dating to his sophomore year, Harris has 74 of his last 79 games with 10 or more points.

Ricky Harris had six assists, one off his career-high of seven, set against Duquesne (1/30/08).

Anthony Gurley scored in double-figures for the 13th time his 14 games this season with 15. It was also his 39th career game in double-figures in 75 career games.

Hashim Bailey set a career-high in rebounds with 13. He previously had 10 at Boston College earlier this season.

Hashim Bailey tied his career high in scoring with nine points. He also had nine against Grambling (12/11).

Freddie Riley returned to action after missing the last four games with minor knee surgery. He last played nearly one month ago at Seton Hall (Dec. 7). He scored six points.

Terrell Vinson had a career-high three blocked shots and a career-high three steals.

Gary Correia drew his third-career start and third this season. He had played his first 74 game off the bench.

Freshman Javorn Farrell didn't dress for the game as he was hampered by a groin/hip injury.

Series Notes

UMass now has a 24-11 lead in the all-time series against Fordham. The win for UMass broke a streak of the road team winning the last three games in a row including UMass at Fordham last season, 91-68.

UMass' last win at the Mullins Center against Fordham came on Jan. 18, 2006.

Also Of Note

UMass Hall of Famer and recent inductee to the New England Basketball Hall of Fame Ray Ellerbrook was honored at halftime of the game.

Atlantic 10 commissioner Bernadette McGlade was at the Mullins Center to watch the women's-men's doubleheader.

2009 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year Tony Gaffney made his first appearance at the Mullins Center this season. He was the final cut of the Los Angeles Lakers and began the season playing professionally in Israel. He is hoping to catch on with an NBA team as the period for signing 10-day contracts has started.

Hashim "Big City" Bailey worn protective goggles after suffering a scratched eye a few days ago.
