The Cologne Centurions selected Mike Douglas in the 19th round of the 2007 NFL Europe Free Agent Draft.
The Plantation, Florida native played tight end for the Minutemen from 2002-2005. During his career he amassed 48 receptions for 597 yards and five touchdowns. A three year starter, Douglas developed a reputation as a terrific blocker and a dangerous runner after the catch.
Prior to UMass, Douglas was named All-State by the Florida Coaches Association while playing at Plantation High School. He was also named one of Florida's top 100 recruits by Super Prep.
The Centurions finished 4-6 in 2006, good for fourth place in the six team league. They play their home games in the 51,000 seat RheinEnergieStadion.
The 2007 NFL Europe season kicks off on April 14 with Cologne playing at the Hamburg Sea Devils. The season concludes on June 23 with World Bowl XV in Franfurt, Germany.
Cologne is coached by David Duggan. Duggan's ties to New England football run deep, with coaching stops at the University of New Hampshire, Holy Cross, and Brown.
