* Chris Lowe scored a career-high 19 points in the win. It was his fourth game this season in double-figures. He had scored 14 points on three previous occasions. He made a career-best 11 free throws on 12 attempts. His old high of made free throws was six.
* Gary Forbes had a double-double for the first time at UMass and just the second on his career with 16 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. His only other double-double came on Jan. 16, 2005 when he had 17 points and 10 rebounds at Duke. His rebound total set his career-high, as he had 12 against Loyola Marymount on Dec. 19, 2003.
* Forbes had more rebounds than the entire Richmond team, 16-to-13.
* Forbes scored in double-figures for the 17th time in 22 games this season and 41st in his career.
* Rashaun Freeman scored in double-figures for the 20th time in 22 games this season and 84th time in 107 career games at UMass with 13.
* Dante Millgan made five free throws, on his six attempts, setting a new career-best for made foul shots in a game and attempts. He had made three twice before and taken four.
* Stephane Lasme was honored with a commemorative ball before the game for breaking Marcus Camby's career blocked shots record. Camby had 336, Lasme entered the game against Richmond with 339.
* UMass made a season-best 33 free throws on a season-high 43 attempts. It was the most made free throws by a UMass team since the Minutemen went 40-of-50 from the line against defending national champion Arkansas on Nov. 25, 1994.
