* UMass had its lowest point total of the season with 53 and also its fewest points in a game since scoring 44 against La Salle last February. It was the fewest points in a win since beating Rhode Island, 49-44 on Feb. 9, 2004.
* UMass had a season-low nine turnovers, but shot a season-low 29.5 percent in the 53-50 win.
* The crowd of 9,088 marked the second crowd of more than 9,000 this season, as the Boston College game on Dec. 2 was a sell out. The last time there were two crowds of more than 9,000 at the Mullins Center was in the 1998-99 season, when the Minutemen sold out the Kansas and UConn games that season.
* The crowd of 9,088 is the largest for an A-10 home game since Feb. 17, 2001, a sell-out of 9,493 against Temple.
* Gary Forbes reached double-figures for the 22nd time this season and 13th time in his last 15 games with 13. Forbes is averaging 16.0 points in those games.
* Rashaun Freeman grabbed eight of his game-high 12 rebounds in the first half. It was Freeman's 13th game this season with double-figures rebounds. In his career, he now has 45 game with 10 or more rebounds.
* UMass had its worst shooting half of the season in the first half at 21.9. The previous low was 34.3 at Temple on Feb. 11.
