* UMass had four players in double-figures led by James Life (14). It was the sixth game in a row which Life reached double-figures. He is averaging 16.2 over his last six games. It was Life's 11th gamewith 10 or more points this season.
* Jeff Viggiano returned to double-figures for the first time in five games with 11 points. He had scored just 13 total points in his last four games. It was Viggiano's 10th game in double-figures this season and 36th of his career.
* Viggiano played in his 99th career game and will reach 100 on Wednesday at George Washington.
* Dante Milligan scored in double-figures for the second time this season with 10 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor. He also grabbed seven rebounds before fouling out in 18 minutes. Milligan had scored in double-figures once before against Saint Joseph's on Jan. 11.
* In his first start since Jan. 14 at Saint Louis, Brandon Thomas scored in double-figures for the first time since Jan. 7 as he had 10 points. Thomas drew the start after coming off the bench for seven straight games. Thomas had scored just 16 points over the last eight games (2.0 ppg).
* UMass had its three-game win streak in the series with Florida State ended. The Minutemen lead the series 3-2. FSU's other win came in 1992, the only other game between the teams in Tallahassee.
* UMass has now dropped three of its last four games vs. ACC teams losing to Boston College earlier this year at Miami last season sandwiched around the win over Florida State (78-68) last season on Feb. 15.
* UMass shot 52.1 percent from the floor, its highest shooting 50.9 percent vs. Fordham on Jan. 18.
