* UMass wore its new alternate black uniforms. It is believed to be just the third time UMass has worn black uniforms in a regular season game. The last came on Feb. 6, 1996 in a 73-47 win over Fordham at Madison Square Garden. The other time was at George Washington on Feb. 4, 1995, an 80-78 with President Bill Clinton in attendance.
* UMass has now lost four games in a row against ranked teams and eight games in a row against teams ranked in the top 5 of the nation.
* UMass had four players score in double-figures led by Stephane Lasme, who had 17 points. It was his second game in double-figures this season and 22nd of his career.
* Rashaun Freeman came on late to post 14 points for his 67th career game with 10 or more points in 88 career games. He shot 5-of-8 from the floor and is 22-of-30 overall this season for 73.3 percent.
* James Life has scored 15 or more in every game this season and continues to averaged 15.1 points over his last 16 games dating to last season. Life has 16 career game with 10 or more points at UMass.
* James Life shot 4-of-5 from 3-point range and is 12-of-16 this season for an amazing 75 percent.
* Gary Forbes also broke the double-figure mark with 11 in the first half and 12 total. He has scored 12 or more in each game this season and has 27 career games in double-figures.
