Kate Mills Named A-10 Co-Player Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts junior forward Kate Mills (Elkton, Md.) has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week the league office announced Monday afternoon. Mills shares the honor with La Salle forward Crista Ricketts. Mills posted her fourth career double-double in UMass' season-opening 60-48 win at Vermont Nov. 10. She had 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds as the Minutewomen snapped a nine-game losing streak in season-opening road games.
Mills scored her game-high-tying 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 at the free throw line. She also added three booked shots and an assists in 31 minutes. Mills scored 10 of her points during UMass' 19-6 run in the second half that turned a four-point halftime advantage into a double-digit lead.
