Field Hockey Season Opener To Be Broadcast Online

AMHERST, Mass. -- The UMass field hockey season opener against Fairfield on Saturday, August 27, will be broadcast online. Bob Behler will handle the play-by-play duties while Kristi Stefanoni provides color commentary. If you can't make it out to Garber Field, listen to all of the action at www.umassathletics.com. Game time is 1:00 PM and they will go on the air at 12:50 PM.
Additional games will be broadcast throughout the season. Check back to www.umassathletics.com for more information as games are added. In addition, live stats for all home games and some road games will be provided through Gametracker. Links can be found on the main UMass web page as well as on the field hockey schedule/results page at www.umassathletics.com.
The Minutewomen are currently in the middle of preseason camp in preparation for the Fairfield opener. They return seven starters and 12 letterwinners from last year's team which advanced to the A-10 Championship game.
