UMass Head Coach Marnie Dacko
"I was thrilled with the assists and the shooting percentage. We try to teach scoring points off of passes and that's what we were doing. This year, our team is going to be all about passing, and getting a shot off that."
"When other teams switch, we have to penetrate and roll back. At one point there is going to be a mismatch, especially with our bigger players. We have to be patient enough to move the ball."
"I think our defense in the first half was impressive. I think we were disciplined, managing the ball, making good entry passes into the post. Those are all fundamentals that we have been working on since day one. My concern was transition defense, and they didn't get a lot of transition buckets."
UMass Sophomore Forward Kate Mills
"We were able to run the break, run the floor and also play pretty good defense. They did not get many offensive rebounds and that gave our post players a lot of confidence to know that we can handle ourselves inside"
