Coach Ford general reaction: The best thing about tonight's game is that we did what we were supposed to do. We came out and played hard and won by a convincing margin. That's not to take anything away from Savannah State. I'm also happy about the fact we had six players in double figures and that we cut down on the turnovers as well.

Ford on James Life's performance : I pulled James aside this week and told him he was going to play a lot of minutes tonight, regardless of the score. I though he had to work through his early struggles. We need him to get going for this team to be successful. He's still going through the transition from the JuCo level to big time Division 1 basketball. He's going to be okay.

Coach Ford on preparing for UConn: It's not about preparing g for UConn, nor was it preparing for Savannah State tonight. It's about executing and taking what we've worked on in practice and bringing it to games. It's good to get 10 days to help make our team better both on the floor and academically.

Coach Ford on the performance of Brandon Thomas : He's been playing well. He's been at the right place at the right time often in games and that says something about him. He's going through a similar transition as James as he's shaking some of the rust off. He's still got a long way to go, but he's going to be fine. It was good to see him put two good games together back to back.

Lawrence Carrier on the upcoming UConn matchup: UConn won't take us lightly. We shocked a lot of people last year. We'd like to make it two in a row.

James Life on his increased playing time: Tonight was a good opportunity for more minutes. Coach left me in with a comfortable lead, trying to get my confidence back.

James Life on UConn: Obviously, we want to win. I want to play well defensively. I've been watching UConn play for years. It's going to be on ESPN2 and friends and family are going to be watching.

Brandon Thomas on tonight's game : We never want to take any team lightly. We prepared for Savannah State like we would any team. We had way too many turnovers and we struggled, but it was still a good win.
