Head Coach Travis Ford on his team's overall play:
"Our hard work and our style of play is what made us succeed tonight. It wasn't necessarily our shooting, wasn't necessarily taking care of the ball. There's a cause of concern for turning over the ball 21 times, allowing them to get to the free throw line 35 times, and only out-rebounding them by one. But, I thought we executed the way we want to play as far as 94 feet for 40 minutes."

Ford on playing in a blowout game:
"There will be no more of these games ... play time is over."

Ford on James Life's shooting:
"He deserves to make them. You've got to see how hard he works every day. I've never been around a player who works on his shot as much as he does. He deserves to make them. He's the first player in the gym every single day."

Ford on transfers James Life and Brandon Thomas:
"They still have a long way to go to get to our expectations. But, as long as they stay humble, stay hungry, and they keep working as hard as they do, they're all right."

Rashaun Freeman on what the team needs to work on:

"We need to learn to move our feet more, if we can improve on that, and play with the same intensity level, we'll be a tough team to beat."

Brandon Thomas on his first game at UMass:

"I was never in this great environment, with this great big school, so it's still kind of overwhelming. But I have my teammates helping me out, we're getting better everyday."

Maurice Maxwell on Coach Ford motivating James Life

"Coach was mad at him because he knows James is a great shooter and he can be a complete player...After that James played better, Coach acknowledged that, and the whole team played better."

Brandon Thomas on what the team needs to work on:

"We sent them to the line too many times. If they hit all of their free throws the game would have been a lot different."
