AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts athletic department has announced that Sunday's 2:00 p.m. women's basketball game against the University of Rhode Island at the Mullins Center will be Fan Appreciation Day. All fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets, scorecards, hot dogs, popcorn and soda for just a dollar.

In addition, UMass will honor former standout Jen Butler at halftime. Butler, now with the Springfield Spirit and Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA, will receive special balls commemorating her 1,000th point and 1,000th rebound. Butler will also be given the 2002-03 "Jack Leaman" award. This award is "presented to the women's basketball player who best exemplifies an ultimate team player; the person who gives of themselves for the betterment of the team both on and off the court."

The Minutewomen, who are currently 6-19 overall, will also host George Washington tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Mullins Center. Tickets for both games are available at the Mullins Center Box Office or by calling 1-866-UMASS-TIX.
