Zsedenyi Named Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Senior guard Judit Zsedenyi (Budapest, Hungary) of the University of Massachusetts women's basketball team has been named the Dinn Brothers/UMass Athlete of the Week the Sports Luncheon Committee announced this afternoon. Zsedenyi scored a career-high 21 points in the 69-56 UMass loss at Northeastern last Sunday.
Zsedenyi tallied the 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. She was also 4-for-8 from three-point range. In addition, Zsedenyi pulled down four rebounds, dished out three assists and had a steal in 36 minutes of play. For the season, she is second on the team in scoring at 9.9 ppg. She is grabbing 3.2 rpg and has also tallied 17 assists, a blocked shot and six steals. She also leads the team at the free throw line, converting on 86 percent of her trips.
Massachusetts will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 21. It plays at the University of Hartford. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
